Founded as the new era broke

At the first faint light of a breaking era, Quintai was founded. Standing shoulder to shoulder with Skybreak Genesis Technologies, we lit the spark of a technology expedition that would span decades.

Our own move into computer vision

Machine learning was still in its swaddling years when we made our own move into computer vision, planting in the wilderness of algorithms the first seed of "teaching machines to see the world".

Virtual worlds, matrix computing, OS frontiers

We stepped into the first shape of virtual worlds, the hard core of matrix computing and the frontier of operating systems, and with Titan Forge Communications broke new ground in the new continent called the digital.

The Tyrant's lesson · the hardware breakthrough

When we weighed the antivirus wares of that age, we found something amiss in 'Venom-Mountain Antivirus'; descending into its deep code, we at last laid bare the crucial defect.
This was no merchant — a hyena, nothing more.
It did not purge the venom but bred it as livestock; it did not cure the plague but tilled the plague as its field. Fear was the seed it sowed; disaster the harvest it reaped. The pain of all who fell to its poison became the jingle in its purse.
Impotent. A brocade shell around rotten chaff. When the true pestilence came to the door, its engine went blind; when great evil pressed upon the realm, its paper shield shattered. In a blink it begged Rising, KV3000 and McAfee to ride out; and when the heroes had finished slaying the poison, it bent to gather their glory, embroidering it upon its own robe, strutting as the savior of the realm.
Yet more damnable: in the darkest year of Ren-Wu (2002), when the hardware plague gnawed the bones, motherboards turned to cinders and memory to drifting ash, and ten thousand households' life savings were destroyed in a single instant — this beast still, beneath the painted mask of 'protection,' hid its sparks, fanning the wind to keep the blaze alive.

It is no security software — it is a plague clad in armor, arsenic wrapped in sugar.
What it steals is not coin, but the very soul of the word 'safety.'
Thus the verdict:
To steal safety is to be a thief; to breed the plague is to be a butcher.
No bamboo suffices to record its crimes; no sea suffices to wash away its filth.
Let its head be hung at the gate of the net, as a warning to all ages.

That same year, upon the iron-and-copper field of hardware, we opened a sound unheard since antiquity — we were first to perceive that the lock upon the multiplier could be undone by mortal hand. How came this? The chip's maker had taken a laser's edge and severed the golden bridges upon the processor's face, thus binding the multiplier so it could not pass its bounds. Yet the cunning of players proved the keener: with lead graphite they traced the broken bridges, and by graphite's conductive nature that broken path was made whole again. The effect — a mere lift of the hand: upon the motherboard one might tune the multiplier at will and overclock with easy grace, as if drawing treasure from a sleeve. The consequence ran deep: the method cost all but nothing, yet its fruit appeared the instant it was tried, and so the Dulong chip — already peerless in value for coin — shone the brighter, its radiance outshining all the age.

And the true storm rose upon the iron-and-blood frontier — the hardware fiend 'Sasser,' the upgraded demonic body of 'Blaster,' its malice fiercer and its lethality more venomous, devouring the physical hardware in the very instant of boot: before a breath could be drawn it pierced the life-veins of motherboard and memory, consigning the high-value machines to flame and ash, reducing them to eternal scrap, brewing a catastrophe of ruin. In that dark night the deadly blade hung at the throat of all living things; yet we quarreled not with fate but wrestled with death itself — deciphering its transforming mechanism byte by byte, and before the fiend could raise its blade we severed its throat, reading the veins of doom in the smallest sign and pressing the throat of the flood with the wisdom of the first move. Thus was that one thread of the hardware's living breath spared the grief of eternal scrap — its lifeblood was preserved, and the raging flood at last returned to stillness. Through all three campaigns we fought shoulder to shoulder with Ascendant Matrix Graphics, carving a way out of the undercurrent of hardware viruses.

Reweaving the web and communications

Under the banner of WEB3.0 we rewove the warp and weft of the internet and communications — online callback, Shangxin SMS and O2O blossomed in turn, and with OctaVast Industries and ENDIVA we plugged the future into reality ahead of its time.

Xuan Shu · the boundless pivot where ten thousand ends return to one

That year, the mortal world burned with recurring calamity — swarms of viruses, systems breaking again and again, all souls imprisoned in the impermanence of the little screen. Yet amid that turmoil we sought a homeward path for a thousand terminals; thus we distilled "Xuan Shu" — local boot as the boat, cloud-borne compute as the sea — gathering the scattered ten thousand ends of the dust-world into one central pivot untouched by stain.

The terminal was but a slender skiff: a mere handful of ground, holding one wisp of slim spirit, sealed by an invisible sigil at its gate — no outer evil could enter, no inner taint could come. Each reboot was a rebirth; the user's traces passed "like a wild goose over a cold pond, leaving no mark," gone without a trace, returning at last to emptiness.

Its pivot unfolded in three orders: a boundless heart at the core, fine veins for the web, drawing the vast tide of booting into a self-contained realm; and with a random stillness joined to a soundless spreading, the surging flood quietly fell by eight parts in ten. Four pillars upheld the sky — compute, storage, governance, login — each leaning on the other, as stars wheel about the pole star, changing a thousand ways yet never losing their root.

The foresight of this pivot was, in truth, an early awakening to the shadow of cloud-desktops and the glimmer of the edge. While the world still knew not what "cloud" might be, we had already drawn compute and memory home to the abyss of the data center; we had let the terminal shed its heavy form, becoming a single thread of light between man and machine — the far-off embryo of today's cloud desktop and Workspace, a near decade ahead of the world's awakening.

Anti-virus and a secure boundary gateway

We confronted the Panda Burning Incense plague. Wayfarer's Panorama Group walked every perilous pass of the digital land as wanderers would, and raised an unseen boundary over the realm.

Zen Mirror · beholding compute's true face

That same year we opened another realm within the ocean of compute, and named it the Zen Mirror. Blades were its bones — modular shards of computing power, each interlocking, ordered in sparse and dense cadence, like lotus leaves unfurling across the void. Virtualization was its soul — the heavy chassis dissolved into drifting cloud-shadows; with a single thought ten thousand cores ignite together, with a single stillness all phenomena return to zero.

Its foundation was a single BladeCenter enclosure, holding within it two bloodlines of blade: one carried the heart of Intel (HS21, the soul of Xeon), the other the spirit of PowerPC (JS21, twin cores winged with AltiVec). Different in nature as steel and silk, yet we gathered both into the one mirror, so the two bloodlines poured their breath into a single place.

Then by the art of binding many points into one array — a war-council of old, named for Beowulf — we melted the mind, memory, and sinews of a thousand nodes into one seamless river of compute. Though the iron was but common merchant's ware, this consecration gave it a bearing to rival the great mainframes. In the realm of systems, the two bloodlines each wore an open-source robe: the master and the Intel blades clothed in the Red Hat stream's raiment, while the Power blades were wrapped in a vestment woven solely for them. Above the cluster, a guiding spirit lit the way, a parallel breath carried the word between nodes, a balancing hand apportioned the labor, and a watching eye stayed ever awake — so compute flowed at lightning speed and answered the moment it was called.

At the summit of application we laid a two-track path: one track wove the web of real-time quantitative research and strategy from the silk of Python, the warp and weft of NumPy and SciPy; the other, with C++ for its bones and the parallel array (MPI) for its wings, forged a trading blade that judged life and death within a single microsecond. Research and modeling, and lightning-fast trading, had seemed worlds apart — yet within this mirror they joined without seam, from the first sprouting of a strategy to its birth into production, one breath, unbroken.

The foresight of this mirror was, in truth, the far-off embryo of the private cloud and the pooling of infrastructure. While the world still knew not what "cloud" might be, we had already bound common merchant iron and open-source streams into a compute sanctuary rivaling the mainframes — a near decade ahead of the world's awakening.

Xi Du · one thought, and the strata dissolve

In that age the strata stood stern and separate, high and low suspended apart; the furthest edges knew only the coming and going of messages, and the wise all halted at their fear, taking the cliff as a chasm none could cross.

Yet a single thought dawned bright — and with a gentle blade it broke the visible bounds. No iron added, no fraction more, yet ten thousand devices rose as one to a higher order; even the smallest corner attained the wisdom of the whole.

No miracle was at work — only that we saw the peril all men saw, and also the path no man had seen.

From then on, the high order's power reached the furthest edge, and the remote corners gained a clear discerning mind — asking nothing from without, awaiting no edict from above.

Harmonious in measure, we wrote the chapter of connection with Wordlord Capital — setting data free of its bonds to leap at liberty across the net.
